Investment at headquarters in Muenster
After two years of planning and approval procedures, this month the expansion of the Weicon headquarters in Muenster started. The total investment sum amounts to 7,5 million Euro. The manufacturer of special adhesives and sealants increases its production and warehouse space by approximately 35 percent and creates space for an additional administration building for up to 50 employees.
A creative campus
The new administration building will be home of the Product Management and the Research and Development Division, just like the Advertising and Public Relations Department. With its open and modern architecture, it will stimulate the exchange of ideas and the creativity inside the company. Moreover there will be conference and seminar rooms providing space for up to 150 people. In future, trainings and meetings will be held inside this building.
Enormous growth in recent years
“We are enjoying constantly growth during recent years. That´s why the investment at our headquarters in Munster really makes sense. We´ve reached the capacity limit. So there is an urgent need for the new building. We employ overall 200 people – 120 in Muenster, 30 Area Sales Manager in Germany and 50 in our seven subsidiaries around the world. The new product and warehouse space makes us more flexible and competitive. With the additional administration building things will move on in the area of research”, says Ralph Weidling about starting the construction work.
Nature and future in mind
During the planning of the new building, special attention was paid to the nature. Hedges pass the whole Weicon-site only interrupted by the administration building. A lot of new trees and green areas will frame the area and even the roof will be planted. With a look to the future of mobility, parking spaces for e-cars and e-bikes of the employees equipped with electricity charging stations will be installed. Weicon realizes the construction project together with the Muenster-based architecture company, planwerk. The construction work will be finish at the end of next year.
