Reliable lubrication is essential in the food and beverage industry – especially where occasional food contact cannot be ruled out.
WEICON Spray-on Grease H1 is NSF H1-certified and ideally suited for spindle lubrication in filling machines or bearing lubrication in packaging lines. For thermally demanding applications, such as conveyor systems in industrial bakeries, WEICON AL-H is used, which is resistant to high temperatures. The multi-purpose grease AL-F covers standard lubrication tasks in dairies and butcheries.
For elastomeric components, valves, seals or fittings, the NSF H1-certified WEICON Silicone Grease is recommended – it is gentle on materials, water-repellent and temperature-resistant up to +200 °C.

Creating hygiene joints
with WEICON Silicone LP
WEICON Silicone LP is suitable for sealing applications in the food and drinking water sectors. The silicone was tested by the Ruhr District Institute of Hygiene in accordance with the guideline for the assessment of plastics in contact with drinking water (KTW) of the German Federal Environment Agency. The white, acetoxy adhesive and sealant is frequently used in dairies, slaughterhouses or canteen kitchens. Thanks to its resistance to chemicals and high temperature resistance, the permanently elastic sealing compound is suitable for facilitating hygiene in sensitive areas. For example, Silicone LP is used to seal joints on a milk tank.

Efficient wear protection and maintenance solutions for the food industry
Production equipment in the food industry – such as conveyor systems for flour or grain, feed containers or pumps used in liquid processes – is constantly exposed to abrasive and aggressive substances that cause considerable wear. For reliable maintenance and long-term wear protection, WEICON Ceramic BL is ideal – an extremely durable epoxy resin system certified by ISEGA and compliant with LFGB regulations. It can also be used in combination with WEICON GL. The colour contrast between the two materials makes it easier to visually assess the degree of wear.
A practical application example: in a tomato processing plant, strong flow and solid particles in the conveying liquid led to cavitation and material erosion of the pump housings. After the surface pre-treatment, the damaged areas were levelled with WEICON WR2 and then coated with WEICON Ceramic BL. The pump was fully restored, avoiding replacement – resulting in a considerable saving of around €1,800.
Such repairs enable hygienic, economical and long-lasting maintenance of systems in food-related production – whether in vegetable processing, animal feed production or the conveying of powdery substances.

WEICON DF 175 is a PTFE-based thread sealing cord that is simply applied after the threads have been cleaned. During the screwing procedure, a flexible and even PTFE film is created – adjustable, non-flammable and reliable from -200 °C to +240 °C. The thread sealing cord is perfectly suited for applications such as compressed air lines on filling systems.
WEICONLOCK® SI 303-31 is ideal for threads on cold water pipes, taps or plastic tubing. It is a one-component, acetoxy, flexible silicone sealant with ISEGA, NSF and drinking water approvals. The one-component sealant is easy to apply and provides reliable sealing against water and other media..

Wear protection on the sieve holder in a malting plant
with WEICON Food Grade and Casting Resin MS 1000
In a malting plant within the brewing industry, the sieve holders are subjected to light but continuous abrasion due to constant contact with germinated and dried grain. To effectively protect the concrete recesses above the 30 m large sieve holder, a multi-stage WEICON coating system is used.
After removing loose residues and cleaning with WEICON Cleaner Spray S, WEICON Casting Resin MS 1000, a strong epoxy resin, is applied as an adhesive layer. As a coating, WEICON Food Grade is then applied, a food-approved, ceramic-filled epoxy resin system. The coating is applied in two working steps, with intermediate sanding and cleaning to ensure optimal adhesion.
